Why am I alone? Stand on the cliff edge again With my back to the wind Where are my wings? That catch me now and again Though they're weary and thin When you're lost and alone I can see That you really don't need All of my wrong turns and all of my broken schemes Darling please leave cause you're running these scenes Which of the lines would you give to me I've got to ask When your illusion collapsed Did you really think that would last There's the catch How can you lend me a hand While you're watching your back What has this become Why does the sun through the pines Only light up the snow What else can I do? Can I watch you flying away? When I'm not flying too

Night is right In the middle of the summer The Suns laying down its tired head And he's dancing With the most beautiful girl He's known in his life But he's certain That she's thinking twice So he turns to the door But he knows That he cannot go Throw him high and he'll come back around These holes in his wings make you doubt You said he could fly and he said that he's tried But he seems to be glued to the ground Time is right On his timeline But he's scratching his head Because he seems to be standing and smiling Well he knows it's been said He's a weight on her strong arms For his hearts made of lead The moments right But it can't be So he looks down his sights And they line up on his head And it feels so right He says "it should be me instead" To give up this fight

I was alone but for thoughts on my mind And the hum of the night The delicate thought of her hazel brown eyes Oh it might've been why With no ones eyes watching I looked through my mind And searched for the lines For in them lie answers that I cannot find That I will not find A darkness that I thought I'd long left behind Surrounded on all sides But there through the forest I did see a light Though I'd left her behind It wasn't the sunset to which I was blind Or the pale full moons light If there is a secret would you please confide How do I get through these nights?
